OUGD402 - Brief 02 - Personal Branding - Logo and Visual Identity Development

These initial mock ups could work as logos or as business cards in their own right. I have used an image of the moon as this links to my surname by association. When people think of Wolves as animals they associate them with howling at the moon. The shape and nature of the moon is interesting and has many possibilities in relation to my self branding and visual identity.

I have chosen to use bright contrasting colours to represent my personal interests. I really love artwork and graphic work that pops with colour. I think the contrasts work well here and represent myself as a creative. Instead of writing: 'Cameron James Wolfe - Artist & Designer' I opted for creative thinker. I don't like to think of myself purely as a graphic designer, I am versatile and this has to be shown through my self branding work. I don't confine myself when it comes to art and design. I enjoy being experimental and working across mediums.

This is another reason for using the moon. The moon has many phases and points in its cycle and I like to think of myself as ever changing and developing my style and visual voice.

These ideas are extremely rough at the moment. I am not set of the typeface but it looked good initially, I will also experiment with the size of the type, the positioning and colours I use.

I have been contemplating the idea of creating business cards which are non standard in terms of shape and appearance. I would like to see what circle business cards could look like and the potential of using an unusual, non standard shape. I will also experiment with printing onto various different stocks.
