OUGD502 - Taking Care of Business - Colour Swatch

I did some Monoprint experimentation within the college in order to see what colours would work well together and represent our team the most successfully. It was really fun playing around with the various mono-printing inks, generally getting stuck in and messy was fun. Screeeeen would ideally work with similar materials if we were to ever go into business, this was one of the main reasons for this experimentation. I scanned in the most successful prints and used them as the background for the starting slide of the presentation. It looked really vibrant and exciting but didn't really give us much of an identity as such.

One of my favourite magazines is Tunica. They focus on contemporary visual culuture and have a strong identity which could be viewed as being 'trendy'. I believe Screeeeen would position itself as a contemporary studio who would strive to be on trend whilst also challenging them. The latest issue of Tunica has a very bold front cover. We all agreed that we enjoy the quite limited colour palette on the cover and thought it would work well for us. We sampled the colours in Illustrator and then selected a sightly darker shade of each to use for the colour scheme of the presentation slides.
