OUGD502 - Taking Care of Business - Personal Notes for the Presentation

Cameron notes for presentation
·         Slide 1: Hello!
·         Hi! We are Screeeeen, a creative collective based in the heart of Leeds

·         Slide 2: Introduce yourself
·         I’m Cameron, I love editorial design and am also really into printed media

·         Slide 4: Our Seven Deadly Sins
·         Concept of having our own seven deadly sins that could act as a playful manifesto.
·         We want to stand out from other studios that offer similar services,
·         This ‘manifesto’ is less dry and predictable and more representative of our personalities as creatives
·         They are:
·         Lust : We lust over really well produced print, because let’s be honest, anything that has been created by someone getting their hands messy with ink is a good thing!
·         Envy: We try not to envy much, and just focus on enjoying the work we are doing and feel satisfied and excited with

·         Slide 7: Where to find us
·         Screeeeen is based within Patrick Studios in the centre of Leeds.
·         Managed by East Street Arts, this is a unique environment which addresses the need for structured support outside of academic institutions
·         Fosters an ethos of professional development
·         Our operating hours are 9 – 6 Monday to Friday and we are flexible on weekends dependant on projects and personal commitments

·         Slide 8: Studio culture
·         Fun, collaborative, experimental and interdisciplinary
·         We aim to put some time aside one day a week to work on self-directed work

·         Slide 18: Potential friends
·         We would be open to working collaboratively with other agencies, such as Rabbit Hole Agency in Leeds, Print Club London and HORT in Berlin.
·         We feel these studios have a similar ethos to us and share similar attitudes towards graphic design and visual communication

·         Slide 19: Potential foes
·         We see our main competition as being similarly sized set ups in Leeds and the surrounding area
·         However, we would be looking to collaborate and be friends with fellow creatives rather than being overly competitive in the early stages of our business manifesting itself

·         Slide 23: Contact details
·         You can find us at Patrick Studios
·         Feel free to call our studio line or drop us an email
·         Or get in touch on social media using @screeeeen
